How to sell at auction

Vintage Jar Collection

Selling your items with the Pacific Northwest Auction House is easy and profitable! Think about it: No more garage sales; no more creepy visits from Craigslist strangers; no more scammers; and no more awkward back-and-forth messaging on Facebook Marketplace. Instead, you just bring your items to us, and we do the rest!

Whether you want to consign a single item or an entire estate, our team will make it easy for you! Not sure if consigning at auction is right for you? Feel free to CONTACT US with your questions or concerns about selling your items in our online auction.

Want to save some time? You can download and complete the consignment agreement and item lists in advance. Just follow this link to get those documents.

CONSIGN

To consign for a future auction, just schedule an appointment to bring us your quality items or call us for an entire estate (we can even sell your estate on location). Use the Contact Us link above or book your appointment directly on our Facebook Page

GET CASH

Need cash right away? We will buy your items outright, including entire estates and odd lots! Just contact us for details.

DROP OFF

We welcome your clean consignment items by appointment only Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. We’ll even pick up your items outside of our normal business hours, though a pick-up fee will be assessed based on the size of the load & the distance from our auction house. Don’t worry, we will give you an estimate of those costs in advance. Use the link below to contact us, or book an appointment on our Facebook Page.

SAVE TIME

If you’ve scheduled an appointment to drop off consignments, you can save time by completing the Consignment Agreement & list of items in advance of your visit. You can download & print these documents from our documents page.

COMMISSIONS

Our seller’s commissions vary based on the final price an item or lot brings at auction & by the type of item. To view our current seller’s commissions, just visit our premiums & commissions page.

NOT ACCEPTED

We accept consignments of all kinds, though we do have few restrictions. It’s not that we don’t want to help you sell your things, it’s that experience has taught us certain items won’t sell in an online auction or won’t bring near the value you could receive elsewhere. Check out our FAQs for more info.

WHAT NEXT?

After we receive your items, the Consignment Agreement, & your item list, we’ll photograph the lots & assign lot numbers. Generally, items received today will be offered in our auction that begins two Wednesdays from today. (Confusing? We know, so just ask us when you drop off your items when we expect to add these to the auction.)

VERIFY

Once an auction is posted online for preview or bidding, we encourage you to view your lots online & let us know if there’s anything we got wrong with the item description or other details.

SHARE

To help maximize your selling price, we encourage you to Like & Follow our Facebook Page, as well as share a link to the current auction & our Facebook post about the auction that includes your items.

RESERVE PRICE

You may elect to set a minimum winning bid price for an item or lot – this is called a Reserve Price. However, if the final bid does not reach your Reserve Price, the item will result in a NO SALE, & the minimum commission will be charged. Contact us if you have any questions.

AUCTION CLOSE

Auction lots begin closing on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Mountain. Within 72 hours after the auction has fully closed, you should receive your statement via email detailing your lots, the prices realized, your seller’s commissions, fees, & final earnings.

GET PAID

You may pick up a check for your final earnings between 10 a.m. & 4 p.m. on the Saturday following the auction. A valid, government issued photo ID will be required to pick up a check; & we can only give your check to you, the original consigner. Checks not picked up on Saturday will be mailed the following week.
